The Ramada Encore Birmingham airport is a completely non-smoking hotel. You can walk there - it's about 15 minutes away, and the hotel can give you directions.
You can walk to the train station, which is five minutes away, and catch the free monorail from there to the terminal. The monorail runs non-stop from 5.15am to 2am and takes about a minute to get to the terminal, so you should be at check-in within five minutes of arriving at the station. Again, the hotel can give you directions.
Or you can get a taxi door-to-door, which will cost about £5 to £7 - £10 if you need a taxi that's bigger than a four-seater.
