  The Gatwick Acorn Lodge prides itself on its Mediterranean menu - and it's easy to see why. Turkish, French and Italian influences combine to create a unique, extensive and delicious-sounding range of freshly-cooked dishes. This is a menu which manages to make the much-maligned kebab sound classy. How about a plate of mezze to start, with taramasalata, houmous, feta cheese, olives, tzatziki and Mediterranean salad? And then oven-baked sole and prawns with fennel risotto, mushrooms and tomatoes in a saffron lobster sauce? The desserts vary each day - which, for the purposes of keeping your excitement levels down as you read this, is probably just as well. The menu features a huge selection of steaks, as well as meat, fish and seafood dishes, vegetarian options, pasta dishes and yes, chicken and shish kebabs. A la carte prices start from £4.25 for a starter and range from £8 to £18.95 for a main. There are also two three-course set menus, one for £19.95 and one for £21.95, both with a choice of four starters and four mains. There's a great value kids' menu too - two courses for just £5.95. The options on offer include spaghetti bolognese, sausage, egg and chips and chicken burgers, plus dessert. Continental breakfast includes cereal, toast and juice.
