Just writing about the menu in the Elements Restaurant actually has made us feel hungry. The varied and appetising menu features everything from Malaysian-style noodles, with strips of rump steak, shiitake mushrooms, fresh ginger, shallots and oyster sauce, to fillet of sea bass with tomato and chorizo tortellini, caramelised chicory and red onion salsa. We'd choose the Indian sharing plate to start, followed by piri piri chicken with sweet potato fries and summer coleslaw, and we wouldn't be able to resist the wild strawberry trifle for dessert. And, as if you weren't going to have enough trouble deciding, there's also a delicious-sounding array of sandwiches, including a chicken, chorizo and Swiss cheese panini, and a Parma ham, rocket, pesto, sunblush tomato and parmesan open sandwich. With so many possibilities to weigh up, it's just as well that dinner is served until 11pm. Bar snacks are also available in the bar and coffee lounge, which is open from 8am to 1am.

Transfers from terminals 1 and 3 are provided by the Heathrow Hoppa every 20 to 30 minutes. Transfers from terminals 1 and 3 run from 4.42am to 11.38pm. You will need to catch the H1 bus. Transfers from terminal 5 run from 5.02am to midnight and you need to catch the H51 bus. Transfers to terminal 4 start at 4.51am and run until 11.51pm. You will also need to catch the H51 bus. Hoppa tickets are sold at the terminals and at the hotel and cost £4.50 per adult and 50p per child one way. Children under three travel free. The prices and the schedule are subject to change.
