Chevin Country Park Hotel 3 Star Rating3 Star Rating3 Star Rating

You might think the fact that it's the largest log cabin in the UK is all you need to know about the Chevin Country Park hotel at Leeds Bradford airport. The cosiness, the individuality and the 44 acres of woodland grounds that those words conjure up are reason enough to book this delightful hotel. But when we add that the hotel has a picnic menu which you can enjoy in the stunning, wildlife-filled grounds, or that you can borrow fishing rods from reception to catch carp in the three lakes, you'll know that there's way, way more to it than that. Staying here isn't just a pleasure - it's an experience unlike any other.

ChevinCots are available free - just give us a call.

LOCATION  The hotel is 2.8 miles from the airport.

CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT  You can check in from 3pm. You must check out by 11am.

RESTAURANT DETAILS  Oysters, langoustines, steak and a six-course taster menu ... it's only a matter of time before they add caviar. If you're hoping for some memorably fine dining before you set off on holiday, you've come to the right place. The AA rosette-winning Lakeside Restaurant, with its log fire for the cold days and rooftop terrace for the warm ones, is cosy and atmospheric and looks out over the hotel's main lake. But if you can drag your eyes away from the view, you'll find there are two menus to choose from: the taster menu or the a la carte. Feast on mussels, smoked salmon, lobster and venison - or just a chicken breast wrapped in Parma ham or a salad if you're after something plainer. The restaurant uses locally-produced, organic food wherever possible. The food's not cheap - you'll not get a starter for less than £6.25 or a main course for under £10.25 - but when you've got the Stornoway Benedict, a tower of toasted English muffin, smoked ham, black pudding, poached egg, asparagus and hollandaise sauce as a mere starter, who's complaining? Dinner is served in the restaurant from 6.30pm until 9pm. Bar meals from sandwiches to lamb chops are available until 9.30pm in the Garden Lounge, with its leather sofas and open fire, and the Woodland Bar, where the real ales include one produced by Ilkley Brewery called Mary Jane. Or if it's a fine day, why not get the hotel to make you up one of its picnics? You can have the food brought to you anywhere in the grounds - there are picnic tables all over the place where you can enjoy lunch or afternoon tea. Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 9.30am on weekdays and from 8am to 10am at weekends.
