Terror Alerts May Force Travel Agents To Cut Prices

High Street Travel Agents Could Be Forced To Slash Holiday Prices Over Terror Alerts.

UK Travel AgentsWith the recent shocking terror incident in Paris, Mali and Sharm El Sheik, the travel industry has been hit hard.

UK Travel Agents Working Hard

With the cancellation of flights and holidays to Sharm El Sheik, high street travel agents in the UK are seeing a big drop in profits. Although this is bad news for the travel industry, it could be good news for consumers.

High street travel agents understand they have a mountain to climb trying to bring consumer confidence for holidays in Sharm El Sheik, France, and Turkey.

Although flights and holidays have been put on hold for Egypt holidays, behind the scenes travel agents are working hard with their public relations teams to put a plan of action together to get empty seats and rooms filled when they go back on sale.

That means low prices, giving consumers some incredible deals but be warned; it won’t last.

Offers Won’t Last Forever

Once the travel industry is convinced the confidence in taking holidays in the troubled destinations have increased, prices will slowly go back to normal. So, for people who are looking for a good deal and would like to go to Sharm El Sheik, they will have to act fast.

The prices of holidays to Turkey and France will also become value for money, but there is some bad news. Travel agents are not charities, they are a business and as such they need to claw some of the money back that they have lost.

Many travel experts believe they will increase prices for other popular destinations to try and offset what they have lost. They include holidays to Tenerife, Benidorm, and Cyprus.

UKACP Advice

For people looking for holidays in Spain and the Canary Islands, we are advising them to keep an eye on prices. Don’t rush into purchasing a holiday, watch the prices for a couple of days if they seem expensive and see if they will come down.

Over the next couple of weeks, the market for holidays are going to go up and down, and by watching them closely you may get a bit of a discount.
