Spain Holidays Increase In Price As People Put Off Holidays To Turkey.

It has been reported that holidays to Turkey are down by 40% due to security worries, which has left travel agents and flight companies counting their losses.

TUI Group Findings

According to the TUI Group, they have seen a 40% drop in the number of people booking holidays in Turkey. A spokesman for the travel group has said this is down to people worried about their safety and recent events in and around the country.

To combat the lost revenue the travel group has increased the number of holidays being made available in Spain, but that is not the only measure they and other travel companies have put into place.

Price Rises

High Street travel agents and flight companies have hit the consumers hard in the pocket by increasing the prices of holidays and flights. Consumers have turned to social media to complain about the increase in holiday prices. Some consumers have reported seeing an increase by as much as 30%.

Cheap flights to Spain by Ryanair and easyJet have also increased in price, leaving consumers looking for a great deal paying much more than they did last year.

It’s not only travel companies, and flight companies who have seen a great way to make more money, hotels in Spain that are normally cheaper by booking direct have increased their prices.

The security fears and the troubled climate around the world have left some people being unable to afford a holiday due to the price increases. Some are being tempted by airlines and travel companies who have made flights to Turkey and holidays in Turkey even cheaper but is it worth the risk.

Travel experts have warned the cost of holidays will continue to rise in 2016 and so will the cost of flights. For people wishing to grab a holiday, this summer are being advised to book it much sooner than they would normally do.
