Larger or commercial vehicle? The car park has changed its terms and conditions meaning that some larger vehicles are no longer accepted. Please read below for full details on whether the car park will accept your vehicle.

Purple Parking is our most booked car park at Gatwick thanks to its affordable price, proximity to both terminals, and great security features that ensure your car is kept safe while you're away.

Need to know:

Drive to Purple Parking' we'll give you directions in your confirmation email.

When you arrive, park in one of the arrivals bays, take note of the number and check your car in at reception - you will need to hand over your car keys and have a copy of your booking confirmation handy.

You'll be given a ticket, which you'll need to show the bus driver. It will also have instructions on the back for when you return.

Hop on the car park's shuttle bus to the airport. It takes 10 minutes to reach the North and South terminals and buses run every 20 minutes.

Accessibility:

The car park has accessible shuttle buses and parking bays. If you need to park in one of these bays make sure you let reception know so they can ensure your car is returned there when you get back.

Facilities:

The reception area has disabled toilets, standard ones and baby changing facilities.

The small print:

At their discretion the car park will give you up until midnight on the date you have booked to collect your car. If you go into the next day you will be charged Â£10 per day.

Please note Purple Parking Park and Ride cannot accept:

- Commercial vehicles of any variant.

- Medium paneled or windowed vans such as a VW Transporter, VW Caddy, Ford Transit or short wheel based vehicles of any description.

- Large paneled or windowed vans such as a Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter, Renault Master, Ford Transit or long wheel based vehicles of any description.

- All variants of mini buses.

Please note, on the 10th May 2020, access roads to Purple Parking Gatwick will be closed from 8am - 11.30am, due to the British Airways half marathon. Customers will need to approach Purple Parking from a North West direction coming in from Povey Cross. Customers then need to drive down Horley Road before turning left onto Lowfield Heath Road. Customers need to allow for extra time as you will be escorted down the road during the affected times.

We recommend that you leave 45 minutes to drop your car and keys off and get the shuttle to the airport.

Please note your car may be stored at the Purple Parking overflow car park whilst you are away.

Booking confirmations can be printed or shown on your phone or device.

Arrival Procedures

- Park in one of the arrivals bays and take note of the lane number.
- Head to reception to check-in and present a copy of your booking confirmation to a member of staff.
- Once you have checked in, drop your car keys in the red box with your lane number and you'll be given a ticket.
- Keep this safe as you'll need to show it to the bus driver. It will also have instructions on the back for when you return.
- Get the shuttle bus to the airport, while your car is parked for you.
- It takes 10 minutes to reach the North and South terminals. The bus runs 24 hours a day on the hour, 20 past the hour and 20 to the hour.

Departure Procedures

Catch the shuttle bus back to the car park - you'll need to show the ticket you were given at check-in to the driver.

From the North terminal:

Turn right out of the terminal, follow the signs to the bus stop and catch your bus at stop 6.

From the South terminal:

Go out of the terminal, head down to the ground level, turn left and catch your bus at stop 7 or 8.

Once you get back to the car park:

- Collect your keys from reception.
- Drive to the exit and scan the barcode attached to your keys at the exit barrier to get out.

Note - If you return early you will need to contact the car park directly to give them as much notice as possible. If you don't, there may be a delay before you get your car back. No refund can be given for any booked parking that you don't use.

Security

Like all Purple Parking sites, Purple Parking Gatwick is fully secured, with CCTV, barriers, a high fence, lighting and regular patrols.

All Purple Parking sites hold the Park Mark, a national security award accredited by the Association of Chief Police Officers. To be awarded the Park Mark, car parks have to be inspected by the police and show that they have good security measures and are clean and well-lit.

Transfer Information

The transfer bus runs to both terminals every 15 to 20 minutes and takes 5 minutes to get to the North terminal and 10 minutes to get to the South terminal. Transfers run 24 hours a day and are included in the price.

Disabled Information

The car park has accessible shuttle buses and parking bays. If you need to park in one of these bays make sure you let reception know so they can ensure your car is returned there when you get back.

Directions

Here are your directions to the car park:

- Leave the M23 at junction 10 via the slip road.
- If you're coming from the north, take the third exit at the roundabout, if you're coming from the south, take the first exit onto the A2011 towards Horsham.
- Take the third exit at the next roundabout, again toward Horsham.
- At the next roundabout, wait at the traffic lights, then take the fourth exit signposted 'Gatwick/Redhill A23 Northbound'.
- Go straight over the roundabout, to stay on the A23. You'll pass Astral Towers on your left.
- At the next roundabout, take the first exit for Charlwood and Lowfield Heath.
- After 200 yards, take the first exit at the mini-roundabout onto Charlwood Road.
- After a mile and a half, Purple Parking will be on your right.

Being a first time visitor to off site airport parking I was very impressed with the whole setup. If I had read the directions properly I wouldn't have used the sat nav to get there, but as I always leave pleanty of time it wasn't a problem. Would totally recommend because the service and the price were great.

The only minor issue was that, as predicted, our rather ancient SAT NAV got a bit confused by recent road layout changes, but the instructions helped to solve that problem.
