Airparks Drop and Go

Park on your way to the airport

Airparks' car park is close to Junction 10 on the M1. Drop off your car and let Airparks' regular airport shuttle bus take you the rest of the way to the airport. Using restricted bus-lanes, it zips past traffic jams and drops you at the terminal door in around 14 minutes.

This practical and popular car park saves you time and money. With no stress. And no walking

Need to know

On entering Airparks Luton, drive straight into the car photo booth, which rapidly scans your entire car body for reference and protection (takes no more than 5 seconds). Then, park in the arrivals lane and check in using one of the machines, which will give you a ticket. Be sure to keep your ticket safe as you'll need it for your shuttle journeys to and from the airport.

There are heated waiting areas so you can keep out of the elements. The shuttle to the terminal is included in the price, takes around 14 minutes and runs every 30 minutes, on the hour and half the hour. It's available 24 hours a day and even has free wifi. Please note we normally advise our customers to give themselves 40 minutes to park at Airparks and transfer to the airport - longer during the rush hour between 4am and 8am.

If you return early you will need to contact the car park directly to give them as much notice as possible. If you don't, there may be a delay before you get your car back. We can't offer you a refund for any booked parking that you don't use.

When you come back just catch the bus back to Airparks.

Maximum vehicle dimensions are 2m wide x 2.1m high x 5m long. The car park cannot accept any high-sided vehicles, minibuses, mobile homes, lorries, caravans, trailers or vehicles larger than the above maximum dimensions. Vehicles with a taxi license plate can be parked on-site, but cannot use the Return Greet or Meet and Greet services offered by Airparks.

Important Information

Due to the ongoing redevelopment works at Luton Airport, buses to and from the airport may take longer than normal. We recommend you allow at least an extra hour for your transfer to the Airport particularly at peak times. Peak travel times for Luton airport are all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday and between 4am and 9am, 1pm and 3pm and 5pm and 7pm on other days.

Accessibility

The car park has:

  • Accessible spaces and toilets, plus well-lit bus shelters
  • The buses lower, and have ramps and space for a wheelchair

Give Airparks a call 30 minutes before you arrive if you need any assistance.

Facilities

The car park has:

  • Free wifi on site and aboard the shuttle buses
  • Well-lit, heated bus shelters
  • Flight information screens
  • Baggage scales
  • Toilets
  • Baby changing facilities
  • Vendings machines
  • Free drinking water

Security

The car park is secured by:

  • Perimeter fencing
  • Floodlights
  • Entry and exit barriers
  • CCTV
  • Regular staff patrols

The small print

If you're planning on returning early try and give the car park as much notice as possible so they can have your car ready for you.

The shuttle can't accommodate large sporting equipment, so we'd recommend dropping any off with your passengers at the terminal first, then driving to Airparks.

If you need to park for longer than your booking you have a grace period of until midnight of the day you booked up to. After that it's £20 per 24 hours.

Booking confirmations can be printed or shown on your phone or device.

[date from=29-11-2019 to=02-12-2019]Please note from the 29th November 2019 until the 2nd December 2019 the A1081 dual carriageway will be closed for the installation of a new bridge. There will be disruption around the airport and we suggest giving yourself extra traveling time especially at peak times.[/date]

Arrival Procedures

We recommend that you follow the directions given to get to the car park, but if you still want to use a sat nav, you should enter the full address and postcode to avoid getting lost.

Pull up at the entrance barrier, which will lift automatically after a few seconds, then press the green button at the second barrier in order to enter the car park â?? as you enter we will record the condition of your vehicle for safety and security. Park in one of the arrivals bays, then head into the check-in building. You check yourself in using the machines - it's a very quick process, though you'll need to have a copy of your booking confirmation with you. There's a member of staff on hand to help if you need it.
The machine will give you a tag, which you should attach to your keys, and a ticket, which you should keep safe as you'll need it later. Drop your keys in the box with the same number as the lane you've parked in. Your car will be parked for you, so just head to the waiting area and hop on the bus to the airport. You'll need to show your ticket to the driver.
If you have sports equipment or lots of luggage, you may need to wait for a bus with more space during busy times, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get to the airport.

Departure Procedures

[date from=2018-09-12 to=2019-07-29]The shuttle buses back to the car park leave from bay R.[/date] You'll need to show the ticket you were given at check-in to the driver.
Make your way to the check-out shelter and follow the instructions on the key dispenser - again, it's a very quick process. The machine will give you your car key back and show you on the screen where your car is. Then just drive to the exit barrier - you'll need to insert your ticket to scan the barcode attached to your keys, and then the barrier will lift. If you lose your ticket, you'll need to go to reception, answer some security questions, then show a photo ID, so make sure you have one with you.

If you return early, you will need to contact the car park directly to give them as much notice as possible. If you don't, there may be a delay before you get your car back. We can't offer you a refund for any booked parking that you don't use.

Airparks Drop and Go

I was very impressed with the organisation and the pleasant demeanor of the staff. It is a busy car park, but despite this the staff were cheerful, helpful and pleasant.

Great service, fast and got to the airport quickly. Managed to change arrangements as we changed our mind about having the car brought to meet us at the Airport. We got our luggage and the car was there within 5 minutes. He even gave us a pound to get out of the short stay barriers. Lovely :D

Staff were friendly and helpful at the car drop off point. A pity the airport drop off/pick up point is not nearer the terminal. Otherwise value for money.
